White Wilderness Heliskiing Terrain

Rising from the waters of the world-renowned Skeena River, the mountains ascend from just above sea level to over 8,000 feet (2,467 metres). From 1,200 metre glaciated runs that end in remote valleys to a dizzying array of alpine bowls, ramps and glades, White Wilderness Heliskiing tenure provides an impressive variety of skiing and riding that will appeal to both seasoned heliskiers and first-timers alike. Moisture-laden air from the Pacific Ocean, coupled with the higher, dryer and colder location in the heart of the Nass and Hazelton mountain ranges provide the perfect ingredients for what British Columbia has become famous for:  bottomless Canadian powder!

White Wilderness Heli Skiing Lodging and Dining

White Wilderness Heliskiing takes great pride in their lodge experience. They refer to it as Canadian rustic luxury – but with Swiss attention to detail, quality and efficiency.  Two main custom-built log buildings house the guest amenities (spa, massage rooms, exercise room, boot room, retail shop, dining area and bar).  Sauna and outdoor Jacuzzi just steps away from the guest log chalets.  Each chalet is tastefully appointed, with 2 beds, writing desk, private bathroom and a small wood-burning stove. Regular packages are based on double occupancy but single occupancy is available as well upon request for a surcharge and when bookings allow.

White Wilderness Heliskiing Options on Down Day?

Located on the colder and dryer side of a mountain range that sees a significant amount of precipitation,  down days are few and far between.  bBut it does happen occasionally. There are a number of options available to us including skiing at the much-storied Shames Mountain Ski Area, ocean-boat adventures and even fishing for spring steelhead (ocean-going trout) later in the winter.  Or you can keep things simple and take advantage of the spa, relax by a roaring fire and rest those legs in preparation for the following day in the helicopter.

What is Unique / Why White Wilderness Heli Skiing?

We’re small. We’re nimble. We’re easy to get to. And we offer the full experience.   As one of our guests put it this past season, we’re “a new helicopter skiing operation with an old soul.”

  • Comments: I did this yesterday and told you it was the worst. Totally incompetent head guide etc. We like the Ruby Heli skiing and will be returning there. It is the best, great terrain, qualified and professional guides.

  • Comments: I'm a repeat customer of Silvertip heli. I've been to 8 different BC heli/cat lodges. I consider silvertip to be one of the best operations in BC. They have the terrain, 60ft of snow , and its north so its tends to be colder to preserve snow. No heli operator is perfect, but i feel silvertip has more odds stacked in their favor to make your trip amazing.
