Average 2027 heli-skiing price by month
February is the highest-priced month in the current dataset. December and April have the lowest average daily prices, although snow, package availability and trip format differ throughout the season.
CADUSD per ski day. The consistent 20,000-vertical-feet-per-day benchmark is used in every month.
Finding: longer trips are not consistently cheaper per day
The lines cross instead of declining together. In this dataset, month, operator mix, lodging and program format appear to have more influence on the average daily price than trip length alone.
Price per ski day by trip length — 20K vertical feet per day
What this shows: the observed daily price does not decline consistently as trips get longer. This is a descriptive comparison, not a like-for-like causal estimate, because the operators and package types available at each length differ.

Great Bear’s four-day April program is excluded from the April comparison. All cells use the same 20,000-vertical-feet-per-ski-day benchmark, so shorter trips are no longer assigned a more aggressive daily skiing target.
How much can an individual package vary?
Across the complete dataset and all three vertical scenarios, published and modeled packages run from approximately CAD $1,300 to $5,441 per ski day (about US $935 to $3,913). Those extremes reflect short trips, premium small-group programs, room type and how much vertical is included—not the typical daily price.
Why we compare 100K, 125K and 150K vertical feet
Unlimited-vertical operators
Published package prices generally do not change with the amount skied, although guarantees and program terms still vary.
Limited-vertical operators
We add the operator’s published extra-vertical charge when the modeled total exceeds the package allowance. The consistent 20K-per-ski-day benchmark is our lead comparison; 100K, 125K and 150K remain useful total-trip budgeting scenarios.
How limited-vertical packages were adjusted
When a package included less than the modeled amount, we added the operator's published extra-vertical charge:
- BCHS: CAD $72 per additional 1,000 vertical feet
- Bearpaw: CAD $58 per additional 1,000 vertical feet
- Crescent Spur: CAD $55 per additional 1,000 vertical feet
- Last Frontier: CAD $66.50 per additional 1,000 vertical feet
RK is run-based at CAD $125 per additional run. It is tracked separately and excluded from these lodge-package vertical-foot averages.

How the averages were calculated
What “operator-balanced average” means
First, duplicate departures are averaged within each operator, month and trip length. For the monthly headline, we then average that operator’s available trip lengths and finally average the operators equally. One operator gets one vote.
The results are not weighted by seats, bookings, revenue, number of departures or number of lodge pages. This prevents a large operator—particularly CMH with multiple lodges—from dominating the market average simply because it publishes more trips.
Which prices are included?
- Public 2026–27 per-person heli-ski package prices that could be assigned to a month and ski-day count.
- CMH is included, with all 11 lodge calendars collected and balanced as one operator.
- Standard or double occupancy is used where room choices are published.
- Private buyouts without public prices, inquiry-only departures and ski touring are excluded from the averages.
- RK’s run-based day-heli product is tracked separately and excluded from the lodge-package averages.
- Nine- and ten-day products are omitted from the public comparison because each is represented by only one operator.
Currency, tax and timing notes
Canadian-dollar prices are shown before tax unless the operator publishes only a tax-inclusive figure. USD estimates use US $1 = CAD $1.3905 and are for comparison only. A package is assigned to its published start month.
Why isn't every operator represented in every month and trip length?
Operators do not all sell the same trip lengths or operate for the entire December–April season. We also excluded inquiry-only prices, undated starting prices, private group totals and non-comparable products. The monthly headline therefore has broader coverage than any single month-and-duration cell.
Additional dated pricing would require direct contact with operators including Mica, Kingfisher/Eleven, Snowwater, Phantom, Whistler Heli-Skiing and Coast Range, plus several inquiry-only weeks at other operators. The 2027 extra-vertical terms for Selkirk Tangiers and Stellar also need direct confirmation.

2027 heli-skiing price FAQs
How much does heli-skiing cost in Canada in 2027?
At a consistent 20,000 vertical feet per ski day, monthly averages run from CAD $2,384 to $3,553 per ski day. The exact price depends on month, trip length, operator, group size, lodging and included vertical.
Which month has the lowest average heli-skiing price?
December has the lowest monthly average in this analysis at CAD $2,384 per ski day, followed by April at CAD $2,607. Availability and snow conditions differ between early, peak and spring periods.
Which month is most expensive?
February has the highest average at CAD $3,553 per ski day, followed by March at CAD $3,326.
Does the analysis include CMH?
Yes. All 11 CMH lodge booking calendars were collected. CMH is balanced as one operator so its large number of lodges and departures does not overwhelm the overall market average.
Is unlimited vertical always cheaper?
No. Unlimited vertical eliminates extra-vertical charges, but the package can still cost more because of lodging, small groups, helicopter configuration, transfers and other inclusions. It becomes more valuable to skiers who expect to ski a lot.
Are the USD prices guaranteed?
No. The USD figures are planning estimates converted from Canadian dollars. Operators generally invoice in CAD, and the final USD cost depends on the exchange rate and any card or bank fees.
